[00:00:00] Welcome to the Rebecca Adehill Podcast. I wanna start off by saying that I want my name to remind you to go and live your life big, to take risks, to go all in and write one hell of a story with one life. You know that you have. I'm a seven figure business mentor, wife and mother of three, and I'm here to share my journey with you as I am constantly moving in the direction of more, more ness, more impact, more wealth, more depth, and more life.
My aim with this podcast is to activate and inspire you to go and live your life big in the fullest, most passionate way. I'm so glad that you are here, so let's dive right in.
Hello everyone. Welcome back to another episode of the [00:01:00] Rebecca Adehill Podcast. I hope that you are having the most beautiful start to your week. I am currently sitting down, geeking out a little bit on podcast analytics and data, and I can't believe what I'm reading right now. I'm looking at my other screen as I'm sharing this with you.
Less than 44% of all podcasts have less than three episodes, and 64% of podcasts have less than 10 episodes. What? What is going on? I don't know if you have a podcast listening to this. Let me know if you have more than 10 episodes on your podcast. I am like scratching my head right now because I'm thinking what happened?
How come you started something and then finish it so quickly. Do I need to [00:02:00] give you a lesson on resilience and determination and the art of following through on a project that you set out to do? What is going on here? And then it says if you have more, than like hundred downloads, you're in the top 25% or something like that.
And if you have more than 300 downloads, you're in the top 5%. Well, that's good news for me, that means that I'm in the top 5% of all podcasts. I am actually just really shocked what I'm reading, and I'm wondering if this is a combination of people not seeing instant results not being able to follow through on something they said they were gonna do.
And then lastly, understanding that it's actually a bit of a project to have your own podcast is not as easy as just to sit down and record and then voila. Here it is. I am in the process right now to outsource my [00:03:00] editing and, you know, all of the, the description and all of the other things that we are doing right now.
And I have been the person actually doing everything up until this point. The only part I don't do is to upload it to, um, the hosting platforms, but everything else I do and the reason why I wanted to do it now, from a time and financial perspective, I probably should have outsourced it from the beginning.
However, when I am starting a new project, what's really important for me is to have a deep understanding of the work and the detail of the work that goes into it. And also for me to really add in my tone and my, um, like my editing and my feel and touch to it. Like all of those small things are really important to me.
But I'm really shocked. So if you have a podcast right now and you have less than 10 episodes, I'm gonna ask you to work on your resilience muscle a little bit and go and record another podcast and [00:04:00] set a frequency in which you release your podcast that feels really good and supportive for you. I don't know, but like, anyhow, maybe I'll just let that one drop.
But I was actually really shocked hearing those stats. Because I'm like, I'm almost four months in and we are just getting started. And that's not to say that it's like super easy and flowy and I feel really motivated every time I sit down and record something. But I'm, like I said, I was gonna do something and this is gonna be the greater good of my mission and the thing that I wanna do, and the people that I wanna impact and the people I wanna serve.
So I'm not gonna let my motivation drive this full stop. I've made a commitment and I'm gonna see you through, so I wanted to check in right now. How is your ability to follow through on something that you have started? What is your ability to follow through on something that you have started? Do you finish [00:05:00] it halfway through?
Do you start something and sit in the idea space and all the fun and then when the hype goes, it falls flat? And you were like the queen or the king of really good ideas, but they never come to life. Not saying it's something wrong with that, but what happens if you master to follow through? What happens if you do something for you, not for other people?
What happens if you say to yourself, "I really wanted to do this thing, so I'm gonna follow through". Not just when it's easy, not just when people pat you on the back saying, "good job". I'm so big on this because every time you don't follow through on something the you said you were gonna do instantly, your brain will tell you. "See, I told you, [00:06:00] you're a person with so many great ideas, but you never follow through". "You are a person that starts a project and then finish it halfway through and start something else". "The Queen of projects, I have so many projects happening right now, but I'm not gonna complete any of them". I don't know if anyone of you is resonating right now, and the reason why I'm sharing this today is because I want you to know that it's not gonna be easy always.
It's not gonna feel effortless all the time. It's not gonna feel fun all the time. I have some major projects coming up that I've shared with you, and I am pulling some triggers on quite a few of them right now, and I really need to go back to the fundamentals, to the core foundation of me and my determination and my leadership and my resilience because it's going to require a lot for me to carry this [00:07:00] forward.
Because my next six months are going to be, without a doubt, the most expansive period of my life to date. Without a doubt. I know that there is a new version of me that's going to be required in order for me to carry this forward. So what does that look like for me? I see myself as a fairly healthy, active, happy person, but I know that I am going to be under some pressure. I know that my leadership is going to be required at at the max up the top. I know that my resilience and my ability to follow through without holding the evidence is going to be major. And there is no one else but me that can [00:08:00] carry this mission forward.
So now I do a stock take of my current environment. This is my exercise regime. This is my health. This is my mental health. This is how much I read. This is how much I sleep, this is how much I exercise, this is how much fun I have. You know, I go through. Last week we spoke about the wheel of Life we go through.
I go through all of those sort of aspects, and I am going to elevate every single one of them, not just one or two. Every single one of them requires a level of elevation If I want to get to where I want to go. That every new level also requires a new version of you. And I know that to be very true because I have seen so many different versions of myself and more and more, and more and more is actually required for me to [00:09:00] continue to grow and build my companies.
To continue to have skin in the game, to continue to have the energy to carry all of this forward. I know that I need to be at my best. I need to be at my peak, and that is not to say that I'm gonna do everything tomorrow and I'm gonna burn out in the process as I'm taking these projects on. It's not that it's very intentional, it's very grounded, it's very calm.
But it's very powerful. So for the next six months, I'm gonna have a glow up happening like we are talking. Like I am starting today with the most incredible facial to look after my skin. I've had over seven months of no alcohol. I'm gonna continue on that journey. That feels really good for me. I'm gonna look after my skin.
I'm gonna look after my hair. I'm gonna look after my gut. [00:10:00] I'm gonna look after my health. I'm gonna look after my mental health. I'm going to read, I'm going to learn. I'm going to nurture my soul and my body and deepening my connections with people that I love and deepening and bettering the relationship I have with myself because I know that I have to be rock solid in order for me to take on something that's going to require a lot of trust, a lot of patience, a lot of determination, and holding that big vision no matter what, and I think it's very easy.
As you are doing something new or you are stepping into another level that requires more of you, a really good check-in to see how anchored and grounded you are is to [00:11:00] see how you perform under a bit of pushback.
Or when someone says, "oh, I've seen people do that before". "Oh, the economy's not that good. You should save your money." "Are you sure you're gonna do that?" "Do you have the energy to do that? Don't go too hard." "How do you have time for all of that?" All of those things that other people say without a doubt from a place of love, but you also know that they will project their fears onto you, and that's okay, but it's not yours to hold and your mindset, your direction, the way you move, the way you feel should not change based of someone else's opinion or someone else's concern, then I'm a firm believer that we can have an open mind to go, let me hear your perspective, and then I check in, okay, does that resonate with me? [00:12:00] Is this something for me to learn here? Or does that actually not apply? That does not apply. Let's keep on moving.
Thank you for your input. I hear you. I see you. I'm gonna keep on moving. And this is actually not about making someone else right or wrong. It's about staying rock solid in your journey. And I'm telling you, this is the hardest part. The easiest part about all of this is to make the decision. The easiest part is to say, I'm gonna start a podcast.
Everyone's like, wow. Go you. You're like, yeah. Wow. That was a really big decision. The decision is the easy part to see it through. To follow through and do whatever it is that's required from you to follow that through. That's the challenge. So I'm like, don't praise me for making a decision. Praise me when you see me hold this throughout, no matter what.
I've had a, a house full of sick [00:13:00] kids this week, so not until now, it's Friday today, not until now, I'm able to record this podcast and it's being released on Monday. Maybe that's not ideal. What I'm gonna say back tonight, and I'm gonna do some editing and I'm gonna get the, you know, description up and we're gonna get that sent out and all uploaded by Sunday night.
You know, it's, it's not ideal. However, I also believe when you stay committed to something, you also need to be able to be flexible because it was not ideal for me to record a podcast with two little sick kids at home this week. So I had to change my schedule to then be able to do this when they're all feeling better.
When I have an hour to myself in my home, it's nice and quiet. The kids are feeling better. I have more energy, more sleep, so now I do it. So it's also our ability to adapt and pivot. We are required. And this is also where I see a lot of [00:14:00] people really struggle. You mess up their routine for 48 hours and people crumble.
And I don't wanna make you wrong, if you, if that is you right now, I don't wanna make you wrong for it, but I want you to really pay attention to that. What happens if the kids get sick and your schedule gets thrown out the window and you need to pivot and change? And change your schedule and change the way you are showing up and start to shuffle some things around what happens to your nervous system.
It's a very good indication on how grounded you are, and this is something we can train. This is something that I train with my clients. I've had conversations with clients over the past week that have felt they've had some pushback, external pushback of, you know, friends or family and projections and you know, judgment and all of those things, and I'm like, this is such a beautiful lesson.
Because it requires you to grow. It requires you to learn something about yourself because every time you stop, every time you pause, [00:15:00] and every time your nervous system or you crumble, when you have external things happening and that shakes you world up, it tells me that we have a little bit of work to do on you.
We don't just wake up one day to go, I have thick skin. I'm resilient. I'm gonna show up no matter what. I'm never gonna stop. That doesn't just happen. But what I also believe is that our journeys inside of our businesses and lives, they have to be so rooted in the deepest, deepest core of our why. Because your why really matters.
When you are up against it, your why for you to be so anchored in your why and your mission and your movement, the people you wanna serve, the people you wanna impact, the message you have to share with the world. You have to know your why so deeply. So when you are up against it or when you are getting [00:16:00] pushback or when someone tell you you can't do something that does not even faze you. The amount of concerns and worries and judgment and projections, and fear, all of those things that's been projected all over me over the years. They don't faze me. At all. Now I know exactly who I take advice from. Now I know exactly who I listen to, whose input I value. We actually get to decide and we learn that very quickly.
Does this person's opinion, does that actually support me or does that make me question everything about me? Or are they somewhere I want to go so I can really take some of their knowledge and some of their input and some of their concerns? Or are they one that they really like to live life differently in their little pocket of safety.
My [00:17:00] husband and I are in the process of buying our fourth investment property right now, and we are looking to buy it at the end of the year, but we are getting everything ready and getting our pre-approval and all of those things with the broker at the moment, and people think it's absolutely mad that we throw ourselves back into the real estate game where the interest rates are going up and the economy is so bad.
And we are like, let's buy another property to then have the incredible capital gain, like we're playing the long-term game with in the property market. I wanna make sure that by the time my kids are 18, they're gonna have a house each and go sell. Do whatever you want, continue to invest in property.
Both my husband and I will feel very strongly about that, and I know that a lot of us is going to be required in order for that to happen. We bought three properties in the space of three years, the last two properties has been in the last 18 months and now we're going for another one. And people call that bull and people call that risky. But this is a [00:18:00] very calculated risk because I know the income that I'm generating for my business, also the trajectory of my business and my businesses *hint, hint* not gonna say anymore on that. By the way. That's an episode for another time. It's a very calculated risk. And now you can have all of the people, they're like, we gotta save money.
We gotta save money. We're gonna leave some money under the mattress. We're gonna take our money out of the bank. We can't trust no one. Of course, like our opinions don't really match up. So I'm not gonna take advice from them. I can listen to them and hear their input, but then I speak to someone else who's got 17 investment properties.
They just bought another one who goes, oh my gosh, this is the best. Maybe I'll move on to commercial. Maybe I stay in residential. Maybe I'll flip this. Again, your environment matters and who you speak to matters, but the [00:19:00] person that matters the most is you. So my message for you today is to do a little check-in to see where your resilience level is at at the moment.
Do you wobble when someone gives you a bit of feedback or when you get a DM, they might not be that nice or someone says something passive aggressive. What happens to your nervous system? The next six months? I am determined and committed that I'm gonna have such a freaking glow up. I'm gonna look after my hair, I'm gonna look after my nails.
I'm gonna look after my skin, my body, my soul, my gut, my health, like all of the things my brain. Because I know a new level of me is going to be required to get to where I want to go.
If today's episode resonated with you, or you can think of someone, Who could really do with hearing this episode, it would actually mean the world to me.
If you could send this episode to them and say, [00:20:00] I thought about you when I heard this episode, I think you might like it because I believe that we need to continue to spread this message. I want to continue to spread this message. I want to continue to make you feel and believe that you can do anything that you want in this lifetime.
I am proving that to myself over and over again, and I want the same for you. Thank you for tuning back in. I will see you all back here next week.
